Public Affairs

Politics is everywhere. It challenges your values and way of doing business. It demands answers to sometimes competing and contradictory requests. It is inescapable. It is urgent. It means the difference between success and failure.
We understand that politics can be complex, contradictory and consequential to the way your business operates and the values your organisation holds. By drawing on the latest data tools, our personal networks and creative campaign expertise, we provide strong political counsel to our clients, helping them successfully navigate the political landscape.
We offer clients a team with first-hand experience of both national, regional and local government, parliament and the civil service, bringing rich insight and contacts from across the political spectrum alongside extensive policy knowledge and consulting excellence.
This unique combination means we don’t just advise – we deliver tangible outcomes for our clients, shaping policy, protecting reputations, and driving success.
Case study
UKHospitality
Having guided the UK hospitality sector through Brexit, the pandemic, and the cost-of-living crisis, we now face what may be the industry’s most challenging period yet. The NIC tax increases announced in the 2024 Autumn Statement have hit the sector especially hard, and there is growing speculation that the Chancellor may be forced to raise taxes further before the year is out.
Working closely with the in-house team and executive from the sector’s trade body, UKHospitality, FleishmanHillard UK has helped to reframe the political narrative around the sector’s role in driving UK growth to secure fiscal and regulatory support from the current Government. ‘Socially productive growth’ goes beyond traditional economic metrics, focusing not just on financial performance, but on how growth benefits people, places, and society. This inclusive vision of growth demonstrates how prosperity can be shared more broadly across communities and social groups, building a fairer and more resilient economy for all.
As the fiscal and policy landscape shifts and the stakes grow higher, we are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with UKHospitality and support them and the wider sector, successfully navigate the political term ahead.
