In 2020, we became the first PR and creative agency in the UK achieve accreditation by the National Equality Standard, the Government-backed benchmark for best practice in DE&I. In 2023 we became the first PR agency to be reaccredited under the Standard, a reflection of our continued commitment to progress, transparency and accountability.
Central to this achievement is the fact that rather than focusing on ‘fixing’ our people, we have sought to understand why the system has been working for some and not for others. This has been a complicated, nuanced and ongoing process which includes:
- Reviewing our data (quantitative and qualitative) to understand the make up of our agency and the experiences people are having;
- Focus groups and listening;
- Reviewing where and how we are seeking to attract talent;
- Refreshing recruitment processes, with inclusion and transparency as a core objective
- Reviewing internal talent progression processes in collaboration with business psychologists
- Building and embedding tech solutions to solve for issues such as proximity bias and work allocation
